Start! Two steps after one, I begin to stumble into a whole new dimension; I am excited as a birthday girl, and yet at the same time feel like a horrified lady being chased by a werewolf through a dark wood. A brand new world awaits my existence – I now absolutely deny all the laws of physics, yet it all feels nostalgic like I’ve been on this world since my birth. I can’t say I would do this for eternity, but I can say I would do this as long as my feet are moving and grooving.
Spark! Let’s get get OFF that floor and scream “Like Oh My God!”. I float on my side and run on the wall like no one has ever done before, and wish so dearly to twirl around like spinning lily-pads. Everything I experience for the moment drives my mind to a place in which I did not ever imagine would ever have existed. Let this moment of joy and ecstasy flash with this new discovery of myself, and let my mind and thoughts blow away while sweeping away all my worries and fears which I had in that other world.
Smash! Stomp and scatter! Just for this moment of rush my emotions are filled with confidence and passion, more than enough for me to imagine of leaving cracks of footprints each time I take a step on this wall. If I break through this wall, what will I be walking on? The floor of that other world has now become my wall, and returning to that place would shatter my joy and excitement and bring the dull, boring world back to my existence. I wish with all my heart that every second that passes to feel like a minute, and every hour that passes to feel like a day.
Seek! Search! I wonder what it would be like if that other world is replaced with this new place I’m walking on? How will I see the sunset and sunrise? Now that it reaches the sky, will the path I would walk lead me to the moon and the stars? When rain falls and thunder roars, where will the water flow to? The questions and possibilities are endless, and perhaps for that reason I might stay in this world for a little longer even if my feet cease to move and groove.

Hi Jae, This is great! Great job! Thank you for your imaginative writing. I particularly like you idea about the two worlds. I have made some changes bellow that I think tighten up the writing. Please compare your drafts and my revision and let me know what you think.
ReplyDeleteAlso, as a homework assignment, please go to the UCI LANGSON LIBRARY and take out a book on Manuel Alvarez Bravo. Please bring this book to class on August 25th. You wil use the book you choose for a writing assignment that day.
