Art! In Dada, everything is art. I am art; I am art, because I do what I please. I am art, because I can be art. I walk on the wall; I walk off the walk; I walk sideways and upside down. I see my friends and my enemies walking side-by-side with me, I see them cross and pass in front of me. I see my path is blocked by a male and then a female. I then ask myself: how can this be art? And I answer to myself: this is art, because I am art.
Ace! I ace what I do. Trisha Brown told me to be graceful and to ace what I do. But what am I doing exactly? I am just walking on the wall. I have a couple of pencils, a wallet and a handkerchief in my pocket. If I were to ace this, then all I have to do is make sure that nothing falls out of my pocket. But nothing is going to fall out, because my pocket is zipped up. What did they mean by acing it? I guess they don’t even know.
Angel! I feel like an angel. An angel has wings, an angel can fly, an angel can walk on clouds and an angel can definitely walk on the wall. I must be an angel; I am walking on the wall and not just any wall, but a white wall. I feel like an angel walking along side my fellow angels. What a great feelings this is!
Awesome! I never thought I would be able to do this in my lifetime. I never thought I would get to show people that I can walk on the wall. I walk on the wall with my hands open one second, closed another second. It’s like I am defying gravity. How awesome would it be, one day, if my kids were to see what I am doing right here, right now, walking on the wall as if I have not a care in the world, walking on the wall alongside my friends. And, then, maybe they too will want to walk side-by-side with me!

Hi Ben, as a homework assignment, could you go to the UCI Langson Library and take out a book (with lots of pictures) on the text artist, Lawrence Weiner. You might like this artist; I think he is funny. Please bring the book you choose to class on Tuesday, August 25th.
