If you were...

If you were a passionate, strong willed, selfless student, you would...

Travel by foot until the row of tanks is in your sight...

Take a long breath in, while counting to five, then release it while counting to three... (I would change "it" to "the breath")

Move towards the tank till is was six feet directly in front of you and stop. (... till it is...)

“I’m staring down a tank that is approximately the same size as my apartment, and which could easily squash me like a dung beetle if I don’t move”.

If you were still an innocent youth untainted by societies vomit you would... (...society's...)

Stare longingly into its eyes...

Confess your love for the object...

Call it by your first pets name...

Feed it meatballs in the morning by stuffing them down the turret...

Bury it in the backyard after it died.

“Buddy was my beloved pet tank. He was a good tank. His favorite food was meatballs”.

If you were four years old and ruled the world, you would...

Declare March 2, “(insert your name here) Day”...

Let puppies grow up together in a large puppy land that resembles that of the Care Bears home, and let them reunite with each other once a year... (I'd take out "that of" and just say: "that resembles the Care Bears home")

Give rejected teddy bears that were only discarded because of some factory screw up, like a missed stitch, or a misshapen eye, new homes. (This maybe could be re-written as 2 sentences, since the subject is so long.)

“All teddy bears deserve a home, even the different ones”.

If your mother ruled the world, she would...

Encourage food production in local areas...

Reverse the power in all facets of life from male to female...

Live in a dome shaped mud-house and grow strawberries on the roof.

“I wish only to return to a simpler way of receiving what is necessary for life”. (How about: “I want to return to a simpler life. I want to receive only what is necessary for life.”?)

If you were the tank you would...

Feel no pain.

Feel no mercy.

Feel no love.

If you were the scenery to Tiananmen Square, you would be...

Ivory colored buildings...

Unnaturally placed trees...

Black oil stains covering the street...

An unfitting background to the violence that occurs...

If you were a child, placed in front of a large tank, who’s mother ruled the world, you would...

  1. Melissa, I made some suggestions in your text above. You do a good job with the list format and you do a good job imagining multiple perspectives. Your writing is specific and, for the most part, clear. Perhaps this could be a sketch for some kind of video or performance.
